Pilot

I'm spending Valentine's day here. It's 7.27 p.m. and I can feel the heat of..well, my computer screen on my face.  Hmm ! When I'm supposed to be cozying up in a candlelight dinner on a cold evening such as this in San Francisco with Mr. Right - that certainly doesn't look like what I'm here for. But I'm cozy with my cocoa and some thoughts.
Thoughts that have been waiting to get out of my head like a chewing gum thats been chewed upon way too long. Or maybe, like a puppy that has chewed on a juicy bone through a cold winter evening. Nom nom. I can go on. How I love the idea of blogging ! Strength with anonymity that can be regulated. But I'm not here to be anonymous. I'm here to share ! Just like all of you reading this blog.
I thought - whatever it is, that keeps me here at this time and place, I'll make good use of it.

Volunteering for a cause is something that has developed from a tiny budding thought and come out to be what it is starting to become here, now - real ideas on a virtual space. A lot of thought and inspiration has gone into the making of this blog and will continue to in the future. I am here to share my experiences with people whom I have met across a short span of time ever since life became deeply meaningful and I've had the urge to change things around me in how we live everyday, how we see health and how we can change it. Every new interaction has helped me build myself as a person and as I'm kickstarting my career in the health care field, my priorities, ambitions and ideas have built up around understanding a multitude of ways in which we can change the health scenario.

A lot is happening. There are developments on all fronts, and so many amazing people all contributing in their own miniscule but extremely important ways to better life on the green planet in ways we cannot even imagine - right from the city sanitation department to bioengineering, education and FDA - 'health' encompasses areas that we're aware of deep inside, but would be surprised to realise. This blog is designed to be not only informative about the overall health scene but also to share a different perspective on health and my experiences with health care as an insider. Posts may digress from mainstream healthcare, but will be related to health nevertheless.

Preventive medicine is an ocean. It has unbelievable potential and is the future of medicine. Be it vaccination, lifestyle changes, early screening methods, health education or even so much as healthy daily habits - preventive medicine is a great place to start. And if we're lucky, to finish. A lot of preventive medicine will make its way into these posts.

I've come across some wonderful people in India who devote a significant part of their life to public health, research and tertiary level health care and have made great contributions in their respective fields. With a handful of supportive friends around me, I've had the opportunity to set up and participate in charity health camps, music concerts for health and social causes.
I do believe it gives us ultimate joy to know that each one of us is here to contribute something amazing - and that is for us to discover by ourselves.

I am discovering my purpose and joy everyday.
